Sofa Delivery
This morning I had to wait in for the delivery of my new 3 seat sofa and chair from Harvey’s. The delivery men arrived with my furniture when they said that they would, which was great. What wasn’t great is that the 3 seater sofa didn’t fit through the living room door. After about 10 mins of trying, denting my walls and removing a few spinals from my staircase. The delivery men gave up and left. Saying that it would fit through the window, no problem but I have to call a glazier to remove the window pain. Well as you can see from the photos below that wasn’t the case.
My dad, his mate Roger and me had to remove the whole window frame. Not what I was expecting to do today.
I know that this was totally my fault for not checking that the sofa would fit through a door but at the time that I ordered the sofa the only questions I was asked about delivery was “do you live in a flat?” and “do you live up lots of stairs?” Maybe when Harvey’s sell a sofa they should say “this sofa is bigger that a standard door size, will that be a problem for you?”

Hi there,
Just reading your blog about Harveys and it made me chuckle. I had the exact same one delivered yesterday and the exact same thing happened!!!
They cover their own backs tho in the terms and conditions which they do not go through with you when you buy. If I want to exchange it for a 2 seater instead I will have to pay £180 plus delivery charge, it is really dsgusting
thanks
Hi really enjoyed reading your post.
Why doesn't the post office stop daily delivery and start delivery every other day to save fuel?
